Clinical Expertise

Christine Newman, LISW, specializes in empowering adolescents and adults who often put others’ needs before their own—often at the cost of their emotional and physical well-being. Christine is passionate about supporting clients who struggle with sadness, anxiety, resentment, body image, and challenges in their relationships and boundary setting. Christine offers a compassionate, collaborative space to explore patterns and build healthier connections, reduce anxiety, and develop a greater sense of self-worth.

Christine has over a decade of experience working with individuals navigating unhealed trauma, anxiety, and depression. She uses a trauma-responsive approach to help clients address emotional and relational issues at their root. Her therapeutic style integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) to challenge unhelpful thought patterns while fostering self-compassion, resilience, and personal growth.

Clients working with Christine can expect an affirming and nonjudgmental environment where their voice is valued. She is committed to helping individuals develop meaningful strategies to enhance boundaries, nurture self-care, and improve overall well-being. Christine believes everyone deserves the same care and concern they so freely give to others—and she’s here to help you claim it.

Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

Christine has a deep respect for cultural diversity and the ways systemic oppression and historical trauma impact mental health and overall well-being. She is committed to fostering a collaborative relationship where clients feel empowered to guide their own healing process. Christine’s direct experience working in prison systems offers her a unique understanding of individuals with a wide range of identities and life experiences, including differences in socioeconomic status, nationality, ethnicity, immigration status, religion, gender identity, sexuality, neurodivergence, and disabilities. Christine believes that personal identities and cultural contexts are vital sources of strength and resilience, and integrates this understanding into the therapeutic work.
