Offering in person and virtual therapy to manage trauma
Experiencing trauma can leave you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself and others. Sometimes the past shows up in ways you don’t expect—through anxiety, flashbacks, low self-esteem, or difficulty in relationships. You may feel like you should have “moved on” by now, but healing doesn’t follow a timeline.
At Blue Pine Psych Services, we provide a safe and supportive space where you don’t have to go through this alone. Our therapists are specially trained in approaches like Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and EMDR, which gently help your mind and body release the weight of past experiences. Together, we’ll work at your pace to reduce the hold painful memories have on you and to rebuild a sense of calm, confidence, and connection.
Trauma does not define you, and healing is possible. We’re here to walk with you as you find strength, peace, and hope for the future.
Trauma Therapy
Starting therapy to process past trauma can feel overwhelming, especially when you’ve been carrying painful experiences. Here’s what you can expect when working with us at Blue Pine:
A safe, supportive space – Our clinicians never rush or pressure clients to share more than they’re ready for. Your clinician will go with you at your own pace with patience and understanding.
Collaborative care – You and your clinician will set goals together in a treatment plan and move at a comfortable pace that feels right for you.
Evidence-based approaches – Our therapists are trained in methods like Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Trauma Informed Care that help your mind and body heal and manage symptoms.
Tools for daily life – You’ll learn practical strategies and coping skills to manage triggers, reduce anxiety, and feel more grounded.
Growth and resilience – Over time, many clients notice greater peace, confidence, and freedom from the weight of the past.
Healing is a process, but you don’t have to do it alone—at Blue Pine Psych Services, we’re here to support you every step of the way.
What to expect:
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a gentle, effective approach to healing trauma and other distressing experiences. Unlike traditional talk therapy, ART does not require you to go into great detail about what happened if you don’t want to. Instead, it uses calming eye movements, bilateral stimulation, and guided visualization to help your brain process and reframe difficult memories in a way that feels less painful.
During an ART session, you’ll be guided to recall a troubling memory while engaging in these eye movements. This process helps the brain “re-code” how the memory is stored, so while you’ll still remember the facts of what happened, the strong emotional and physical reactions tied to the memory are reduced or even eliminated. Many clients notice relief in as few as one session, and often report feeling lighter, calmer, and more at peace with themselves.
Blue Pine Psych clinicians who are trained in ART include Elizabeth Swan, LISW-S, Eva Cross, LPC, and Tara Wade, LPC.
Heather Harris, LPCC, is trained in EMDR.
