Heather Harris, LPCC is a compassionate and skilled therapist who helps individuals and couples create deeper connections, overcome trauma, and build more fulfilling lives. With specialized training in couples counseling, sex therapy, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Heather brings a warm, nonjudgmental presence to her work with clients navigating relationship challenges, intimacy concerns, or the lasting impacts of trauma.
Whether clients are feeling stuck in cycles of conflict, disconnected from their partner, or struggling with past experiences that affect their present day, Heather offers evidence-based strategies and a safe space to foster healing and growth. She tailors her approach to meet each client’s unique needs—whether that’s improving communication, exploring sexual concerns with sensitivity and care, or reprocessing painful memories to find peace.

Heather brings a deep respect for cultural diversity and the ways systemic oppression and historical trauma impact mental health and overall well-being. She is committed to fostering a collaborative relationship where clients feel empowered to guide their own healing process. Heather has experience working with individuals across a wide range of identities and life experiences, including differences in socioeconomic status, nationality, ethnicity, immigration status, religion, gender identity, sexuality and polyamory, neurodivergence, and disabilities. Heather believes that personal identities and cultural contexts are vital sources of strength and resilience, and integrates this understanding into the therapeutic work.
Training
Heather brings a strong foundation in psychology and mental health to assist her counseling work, holding a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Lindsey Wilson College School of Professional Counseling and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Shawnee State. Heather is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and specializes in couples, relationships, and sex therapy. Heather has extensive training in Gottman Couples Therapy (Levels I, II, Trauma and Affairs, and Couples and Addictions) and also has her Sex Therapy Certificate through the University of Michigan.
Areas of Expertise
Heather thrives when working with clients and couples who come to therapy in order to focus on their relationships, working towards goals of greater connection, understanding, and fulfillment. She enjoys working with relationships of all shapes and sizes, no matter how those relationships are defined. Heather gravitates towards helping clients who are ready to navigate delicate topics of intimacy and sexual functioning, so that she can support their journey of healing and understanding. Heather also likes to work with adults who have experienced significant life events and trauma and who may need a safe and caring space to work towards healing.
Hobbies & Interest
When Heather is not in the office, she enjoys gardening, being outside, fossil hunting, crafting, reading, and skating. Heather loves art, philosophy, alternative/rock music, and is a true crime junkie. Heather is also passionate about social justice and cultural appreciation.
