Katie Taylor, LISW

Clinical Expertise

Katie has been working in the fields of mental health, psychology, and human development for the past 8 years. She began her career working with individuals with ADHD through both clinical work and research. Since then, her clinical experience has been with people of all ages in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This work has helped Katie build skills in trauma-informed care, crisis management, behavioral management, and family system support. 

Katie utilizes an approach that is holistic and person-centered. She helps individuals build insight into their strengths and works with them to explore how strengths can be used to support treatment progress. Katie is highly collaborative and values each person's expertise through their own lived experiences.

Katie is committed to creating a therapeutic space that honors each person’s lived experience. She has worked with individuals of a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and identities. Katie aims to help clients navigate and challenge the barriers that they may face inside and outside the therapy room while working collaboratively to promote unique strengths throughout the process. Katie believes that every person deserves to feel safe, understood, and supported as they work toward their individual goals and journey towards their most authentic self. 

Training

Katie has a Master's in social work from the University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor's in Psychology from Emory University. While at UC, she received the BearCAT Fellowship, which allowed her to receive specialized training in working with adolescents and transitional-aged youth (16-25) who are at risk for behavioral and mental health challenges. Katie is also a registered 200-hour yoga teacher and draws on this background to provide additional support to clients through mindfulness and grounding. She is trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Hobbies & Interest

Outside of sessions, you can find Katie practicing yoga, reading, watching scary movies, playing pickleball, and spending time with family. While she is not originally from Cincinnati, she thoroughly enjoys this city and loves exploring all that it has to offer! She is passionate about participating in local events to support the community.
