Her goal is for clients to leave each session with a renewed sense of safety, clarity, and balance—equipped with practical tools to carry that sense of well-being into daily life. Tara’s style is both direct and compassionate, blending honest feedback with interactive interventions—and just the right touch of humor to keep the work grounded and engaging.

Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

Tara brings a deep respect for cultural diversity and the ways systemic oppression and historical trauma impact mental health and overall well-being. She is committed to fostering a collaborative relationship where clients feel empowered to guide their own healing process. Tara has experience working with individuals across a wide range of identities and life experiences, including differences in socioeconomic status, nationality, ethnicity, immigration status, religion, gender identity, sexuality and polyamory, neurodivergence, and disabilities. Tara believes that personal identities and cultural contexts are vital sources of strength and resilience, and integrates this understanding into the therapeutic work.

Training

Tara brings a strong foundation in psychology and mental health to her counseling work, holding a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Kent State. Tara has also completed the BearCAT Fellowship Program through UC with an emphasis on demonstrating knowledge and understanding of the specific concerns for children, adolescents, and transitional-aged youth who are at risk for behavioral health disorders and suicide. Tara is also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), which helps clients process through traumas and remove adverse emotions that create barriers to healing.
